A fully equipped kitchen with a marble worktop, coffee machine and wine cooler. Outside, a summer kitchen with a grill, for long evenings under the open sky.
The house
A Provence hideaway on the Côte d’Azur, five minutes from the village.
Three bedrooms, a garden nobody can see into, and a pool in front of the house. The centre of La Croix-Valmer is a few minutes on foot, and the weekly market is right on the doorstep. Saint-Tropez is close enough for an evening and far enough for a quiet morning.

Good to know
A few things upfront.
Who is the house for?
For families who would rather spend the holiday by the pool than in the car — the village, the bakery and the beaches are all a few minutes away. And for anyone who already knows this corner of France and comes back every year. Both have been equally happy here.
Do children get on well here?
Very well. We have three of our own and the house is set up accordingly. The pool is right outside the door, closed off by a gate. Table tennis, boules and the tennis courts are next door.
When can you arrive?
Usually from 5 pm, departure by 10 am. If your flight or drive does not allow that, just write to us — we can nearly always work something out.
How do you get there?
Best by rental car from Nice, about an hour and a half. One tip from experience: avoid the coast road between Sainte-Maxime and Saint-Tropez at rush hour, or you will sit in it for a while in summer.
What should you bring?
Beach towels — bed linen and two towels per person are provided. And insect repellent: the Var has mosquitoes, mostly in the morning and around sunset.
What isn’t perfect?
The house is comfortable but it is not a large villa. The neighbourhood is lively and a road runs behind the garden — you will hear cars or music now and then. Anyone after absolute silence will be better off elsewhere. Anyone who likes village life will love it.
Are there any house rules?
Very few. Dogs stay outdoors, nobody smokes inside, and large parties are not right for this house. Maison Chouchou is not an anonymous rental — it is our own retreat, with our books, pictures and keepsakes. We are glad to welcome guests who see it the same way and leave it as they found it.
How does payment work?
Half the rent after booking and the rest three weeks before arrival at the latest. You also transfer a security deposit of €400 in advance. It is purely a formality — as soon as the house is handed back in good order after your stay, we transfer it straight back.
